Marsha's tips for buying high quality, handcrafted body care products that are organic, natural, and environmentally friendly:
1) Look closely at the ingredients. Do you understand everything on the label? Does it contain anything artificial (e.g. dyes, preservatives, or fragrance oils)?
2) Check the order of ingredients on the label. Are they using good quality ingredients? Are the ingredients organic? Are non-organic ingredients tested for pesticides or herbicides before they are used in your product? If you have a question about an ingredient, don't be afraid to ask!
3) What kind of packaging? Is it expensive (e.g. colorful printing, lots of decorative features)? Is it recyclable? The cost of these extras is being passed down to you and to the environment.
4) Do they use fair trade and sustainably produced ingredients?
5) Compare, compare, compare!!! Is the price reasonable for the ingredients listed? Is the price reasonable for the size? In other words, are you paying a lot for a little?
